Bills and Subscriptions: Keep the Details Easy to Find
If you needed to help a parent with a bill, would you know where to find the statement or whether payment is automatic? Writing down a few details together can make stepping in easier.
Start with electricity, water, gas, phone and internet. Then add subscriptions and memberships.
In Forethought, go to Accounts & Legal → Utilities & Subscriptions. Enter the provider’s name, select a type and add a contact number. Use Notes for payment arrangements, statement locations and who keeps the information current.
For example:
Dad’s electricity bill is paid automatically each month. Statements are in the blue folder beside his desk. Dad keeps this note current. Last checked: September 6, 2026.
Update the record when the provider, payment arrangement or person responsible changes. Let your parent’s chosen helpers know where to find the current information.
