Information Collection and Use

The Forethought app will collect and store different categories of personal and sensitive user data including but not limited to:

 

• Personal Data: Such as your name, and contact information.

• Sensitive Data: Such as people you want to have contacted, and birthdates to suggest when you may need to update your will or other legal documents.

This information will be saved in an encrypted form both on your device and, if you choose a plan with online backup, also on our secured servers.

Third-party Sharing: We do not have access to the unencrypted information on the servers, and therefore will not share, sell, or rent this information to third parties, except as required by law or in response to a court order.

Web Data

When you visit any website associated with Forethought, your browser's IP address is recorded. We also set and utilize cookies to save settings or information between sessions. To opt-out, you can use a VPN or disable cookies in your browser settings, respectively.

Analytics

By using the Forethought app, you consent to the use of Google Analytics as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not wish for your data to be collected by Google Analytics, you can opt-out by adjusting your device settings to disable usage data sharing. However, please note that disabling usage data sharing may impact certain features or functionality of the app.

User Designated Access

Users can designate trusted individuals to access their data stored within the app. Explicit consent is required from these trusted individuals, and users can revoke this access at any time.

Security

All user data, both personal and sensitive, are encrypted during transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption protocols. We implement regular security audits and updates to protect against unauthorized access, data theft, or loss.

We do not share, sell, or rent any personal information to third-party service providers, except as required by law or in response to a court order.

Data is retained as long as the user maintains an account with Forethought. Users have the right to request deletion of their data, which will be executed within 30 days unless otherwise required to be retained by law.

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy as needed to reflect changes in our practices or to comply with legal requirements. All users will be notified of any changes via in-app notifications or email.
